Designed to acquaint the student with the dynamics and principles of the teaching-learning process and with methodologies that are age-appropriate. Students are given the opportunity to design a training module and write lesson plans. Basic relational skills necessary to mentor others while providing instruction or training is also addressed. Instruction and mentor settings will be evaluated based on formal, informal, and non-formal education categories. A Leadership Core requirement.
A significant amount of course content is based on the required textbooks. Textbooks are available for purchase from the university bookstore (www.graceu.edu/bookstore).

This course is designed for optimum interaction among students and between the instructor. The foundations (Bible, theology, spirituality) of ministry will be explored with a view to practical productive ministry (relationships, skills, goals) in the local church, as well as in the life of the minister. By the completion of the course the student should be able to:
I. Cognitive:
· Understand principles and practices of mentoring from contemporary and historical sources via classroom exercises and readings.
II. Affective:
· Appreciate the Scriptures and the thorough systematic teaching of their truth by planning lessons and interacting in good Bible teaching
· Have the desire and will to mentor another believer and to teach the word of God in its fullness with clarity and Grace by class exercises and having the privilege to teach the Bible to others in class
· Value the ministry of mentoring as a legitimate and essential ingredient to Christian maturity and accountability via reading, reflection, class exercises and interviewing
III. Behavioral:
· Conduct principles of teaching via teaching a Bible lesson in class
